Bayeux cathedral is a fine example of Norman Gothic architecture from the 13th century. However, the crypt, the arches of the nave and the lower portions of the towers on either side of the main entrance are 11th-century Romanesque. The central tower was added in the 15th century and the copper dome dates from the 1860s.
